The Salon: Vol. 1

  • StudioLAB RD 1670 Wisconsin Avenue Northwest Washington, DC, 20007 United States (map)

What do Smithsonian museum director, renowned art curator and author Melissa Chiu, and cardiologist, nonprofit medical association CEO and former university president David Skorton, have in common? They both think deeply about timeless, big questions like what it means to be human and how we want to live. Come hear their thoughts and engage with them on these and other topics at the first of a new Salon Series on Oct. 26 at 7pm in the magical setting of StudioLab RD, a unique artist studio-creative hub nestled in one of the historic row houses of Georgetown, Washington, DC.

Created and moderated by StudioLab RD founder, proprietor and artist Robin Davisson, someone who has been immersed in both the worlds of science and art herself, this Salon Series is part of her new efforts to build community and connection in Washington, DC and beyond through intimate, searching conversation that connects the dots between seemingly disparate realms.

With a unique alchemy of thoughtfully curated guests/topics, a warm and lowkey setting perfect for people to really listen to each other, and un-fussy food/drink, the Series promises to be stirring, spirited and surprising. We hope you'll join us!

Guests:

  • Melissa Chiu — Director, Hirshhorn Museum + Sculpture Garden

  • David Skorton — President, CEO, American Medical Colleges
